Getting started with Tapestry for Zoom
Installing Tapestry for Zoom
1. Ensure you have a Business level Zoom Account
3. Ensure that you have the correct Zoom settings
1. Ensure you have a Business level Zoom Account
Currently, Tapestry relies on Zoom Audio Transcription functionality which is only available on Business level Zoom accounts and up.
NOTE: We plan to implement Audio Transcription that can be available for Free and Pro users as well. Stay tuned!
2. Tapestry Account
Before getting started you will need a Tapestry account. A Tapestry account is required to log into the Tapestry application in Zoom.
Please register by clicking the Sign Up button on the login page.
3. Ensure that you have the correct Zoom settings
Please ensure that you have Cloud Recording enabled, as well as Audio Transcript selected.
Start by loading navigating to Zoom Settings (https://zoom.us/profile/setting) and clicking the "Recording" tab as indicated below, then ensure Cloud Recording and Create audio transcript are enabled.
4. Install the App into Zoom
Please use this button and follow the installation instructions.
After installing a browser screen will open asking you to log in.
It is very important that you login with your Tapestry Account at this point. This will allow us to connect your Zoom account with Tapestry!
Using Tapestry in Zoom
1. Upcoming and Recurring Meetings
Now that you have installed the app into Zoom, you may navigate to the Zoom Apps menu and select Tapestry.
If you do not have a Tapestry account, you will need to register for one to continue.
1. Upcoming and Recurring Meetings
At this point you should see Upcoming and Recurring meetings in the upcoming Meeting section.
You can choose to add a future meeting in Zoom as you normally would.
To see it reflected in the app, return to the Apps screen in Zoom and refresh the app using the menu at the top right of your zoom app screen. (indicated in the screenshots below).
Note: it may take more than one refresh to appear. The need for multiple refreshes will be removed at some point in the future.
2. Create your first Tapestry
Now for the fun part!
In order to create your first tapestry:
- Go to Zoom and record your first meeting using cloud recording.
- Once the meeting is over, wait for Zoom to finish transcribing your audio
- It is often available within a minute after the cloud recording is available.
- Once a transcript is available, load your application and you will see a Tapestry card indicating that your tapestry is ready to view.
- Note: If you do not see your Meeting, please navigate to or the Troubleshooting section
- When visiting from your web browser: If you click a Tapestry that has already been generated, you will have the ability to Download and Copy (as indicated in the screenshot below)
- Download grants the ability to save Tapestry file to your computer
- Copy a link allows you to share it with someone else
Go forth and communicate!
Removing Tapestry from Zoom
By removing the Tapestry app from Zoom, you will no longer be able to automatically sync meeting transcripts with Tapestry. You will still have access to Tapestry for the web. This will not deactivate your tapestry account, only remove the Tapestry integration from Zoom. Application de-authorizing is facilitated by Zoom.
If you need to remove Tapestry from Zoom, it is pretty straight forward:
- Login to your Zoom Account and navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click Manage >> Added Apps or search for the "Tapestry" app.
- Click the "Tapestry" app.
- Click Remove.
